Good Evening from Yacht Nyanza.....we are currently motoring toward Tortola about half way between the mainland and Bermuda, about 380 miles out....the sun has just gone down and Gib has just sung us a few of his favorite ditty’s...many to be censored .......Today saw the dawn come up on My shift with Sherry......what a night....huge squalls coming thru...boat hitting 10knots with puffs to 40 knots (believe that is #5 gale) Yours truly did four hours on the helm and shoulders are sore.....in the log our log master Loesel wrote

she came through.”
This morning in heavy left over seas the sun came out and Nyanza dried herself and her crew off.
Winds NNW at 15 moving to SSW 10 tonight. It was a pleasant day ....The drink holder broke on the binnacle so Gib played
“this old Boat” and did a wonderful repair job. Picture to follow.......The fishing pole got put out.....no one on the boat knows
Anything about fishing so it should be interesting if a Mahi Mahi finds her way on to our line.
Today the Spectra water maker for the first time made of water, it works. A relief to know.
After last night and the heavy storms we were in you start to appreciate how different ocean life is....you don’t just motor in.
I lay in my bunk as the boat tossed and turned wondering what might go wrong...and could we deal with it.
Our strategy is to still favor the Rumb line at this point....it does not appear that going east helped people avoid the storms.
At the 0700 Sunday report in NYANZA reported it’s location as 3344w/7038n Winds SSW at 6-8.
We expect the winds to stay light tonight and then move sw at 5-10 tomorrow. We will be burning up some of our fuel.
From the galley....breakfast was yogurt/berries/granola (the captain’s favorite)....sandwiches for lunch......beef stir fry and apple pie for dinner.
Everyone has been very busy, tired from heavy seas....little time for other things....perhaps the next few days will allow us to just settle in
