This morning I ran the 4-8 shift and pounded thru squall after squall....sails in sails out reefs etc....finally we cleared the squall lines to find our heavy NNE winds. To add to the todays events include the seal in the hydraulic backstay going.....oil gushes out.....spent one hour tightening up 4” tightened up pretty well....it’s going to work..
Then we got a halyard wrapped around the roller furler and we think we have it fixed..Had to take the headsail down and Have not put it up yet...too rough....we are currently flying the storm jib and as single reef main. Works, going 7.5.
Yestrerday for four hours it was beautiful and we flew the spinnaker...what a contrast.....
Hope everyone is well. ...I have gotten myself into quite an adventure!!
Position at 7AM ATL was 2913w/6626n. So far we have used 23 hours of motoring.
