Monday Jan 26 comes to Bitter End quickly and it was decided by out rusty sailors and wives after discussion with Sherry that they want to depart on Tuesday Morning and sail down Drake Channel to the Bight at Norman Island.......for snokerling at the caves and a late night at the famous tattoo parlor...WILLY'Ts. The Captain issued his weather report after review at breakfast Tuesday Morning......
Tuesday, Jan 27 Cap Jim advised the rookies that the wind would be 15-20 on Tuesday and 20-25 on Wednesday coming back.....guess what...going is down wind, coming back is up wind. Everyone agreed to start the Pirate voyage......off we go...Single reef, half a jib.....8-9 knots....3 hours later we enter the bight after sailing around Peter island.......
a mooring was found and sherry, our entertainment captain, lead the team off to the Caves to snorkel....yours truly guarded the boat against pirates....This mooring holds about 60 boats....and by 4 pm they were 80% filled.....then right beside us moors a Spanish Baltic 52 direct from Spain...5 spaniard men 20 days at sea......more to come! AH HA.....
