WOW..we are in Annapolis Md

What a trip...............two weeks later we drove back to Erie where we started yeaterday in Six hours with the Ferrari driver Peter Reyburn at the wheel for a major part of the trip. Think about it......650 miles in two weeks.....Erie Canal built in 1832...... (112 Hours logged) to be replaced today on the road in 6 hours back to Erie...that means we have sped up the earth by 18.6 times. No wonder we are out of control.

It was a great trip......if you look at the pictures we moved down the Hudson.....no more groundings.....and arrived in NJ looking at Lower Manhattan on August 30 at the Liberty Park Marina....next to Ellis island and the Statue.....looking at the City....Wonderful.

Like a miracle here comes this new professional sailor to join Nyanza for the trip to the Caribbean. 1 Huge Wheeled Bag...a few more ...rigging gear......computers and DVD players.....but a very certified and talkative Italian to get Nyanza up to speed. Welcome Sherry Burger.

She came with everything needed to direct the Captain Jim forward.......upon introductions...Peter, Beans and I decided we needed a heavy drink and dinner at the Marinas very good restaurant...... We needed to get ready for the woman attack on the wonderful Nyanza the next morning.....After all it is a girls name I guess ...NYANZA ..HEAVY.........

Well Morning came early and the good ship left for Cape May.....an overnight 120 mile run to the bottom of New Jersey.

First question out of Sherry? Has there ever been a woman on this boat......where upon she totally reorganized every damn thing on the boat....I hope Timmy Mehl can find his Johnny Walker when he boards!!!!! She so far has not made it to shangri-la.

Cape May showed itself about three oclock with little options for a deep draft boat....we ended up at Second Mile Creek on the Waterway with a restaurant closed.....Need I say more.

Out in the morning at 0800hrs....August 31 and around the corner thru shoals up the Delaware River.....in the channel all the way....wind, current, motoring......
no way we could beat the ebb tide and were running at the end into the B&O Canal at 3.5 knots. Proceded up to the Summit Marina in the dark arriving at about 2100hrs....spot light out looking for a home. Found it....You should see the TURKEY VULCHERS.....Jurastic Park looked real here.

Out in the AM and went up the Sassafras River on Sept 1, 2008 and spent the night on the Eastern Shore.....Wonderful...motored up about 4 miles......Great dinner was served by Sherry.....Barbecued Ribs and baked beans!!!!! Stars...big dipper ...special...a sunset to match all sunsets.

Off we go for another adventure........Cap Jim
