Cleanup in Lake Erie

05-25-09 Well, it did not take long before it became time to assess the damage and strip out the pounds and pounds of items that went to the Carribean. I took a picture you might enjoy of getting Nyanza back into shape. We had a great crew yesterday for Nyanza's first spinnaker race of the season....Mork Lighthouse Race...about a 15 mile race thru the channel out to G1...around the Penninsula to the lighthouse and back to g1 twice. Well, Nyanza started in fluky light air down to the channel finding the top boats way ahead. However as soon as we got out into the lake it filled in and we had a great day of sailing finishing 17 minutes out of the money in 6th place...we beat two boats!!! On the way out we realized that the Vang had been broken on the boom....another fix...last week it was rewelding the gooseneck that had failed.....hopefully we have found all the problems.....key problem right now...salt everywhere...Cap Jim
