Heineken Regatta Day 2

Definately number 3 weather....went out by Cole Bay to do 2 short Windward-Leewards
to find large swells, and winds from 20-30K.....With a numer 3 and a reef we took off up the windward leg...twice around.....now remember, this is a Hink and we got all the stable huge and small boats moving thru us on post and starboard......
at one point we had an Oyster 75 bearing down on us on port with Nyanza close hauled Starboard...he gave way and took our transom by 10 feet...WOW...
No Spinnakers...those that did in our class either tore or shrimped there chutes...
At the end of the day.....first race we took a 6 and fourth day a 4th.....going into Sunday with heavy wind and a 20 mile upwind down wind race we are in 6th place....unffortunately even with a first today we are out of the money....currently at 5:55 Am on March 8 we are in 6th place........
Picked up two wonderful crew members for the last two days.....a young 18 year old british girl named Pepper and Danniel, a 22 year old boy who has grown up in trinidad.He is an excellent racer...dad owns a boat yard...both of these Kids are moving boats around and getting into boat careers full time for a while.
