Nynaza Goernment Bay, Gore Bay, Benjamins

08-02-11 Off we go from Government bay into Canada and the North Channel....moving quickly to get into False detour Cut before we expected storm we left at 0715 and made it to the Cut at around 1300hrs..motor sailing at 7.00 knts.... no storm and we motored around the corner to Meldrum Bay where we had to call in to check into Canadian Customs. Meldrum Bay is down at the end of Manitoulin Island....the largest fresh water island in the world. From there to the southern end is 160 miles.
Hung on our anchor and had a great dinner at the Mullen Bay Inn.....a neat little B&B with good food.
08-03-11 saw Nyanza depart for the Benjamins.....not to get there....wind on the nose building to 25 with puffs to 30. ....gave up and pulled into Gore Bay 25 miles further south.....went onb a hook and we had our first dinner....Captain Jim prepared of Clams Linguini, salad and garlic bread....
08-04-11 Dale,Brandon and Kyle Park and I departed for the Benjamins arriving around 1400. Beautiful day...glue pot...no wind and anchored to spend some time enjoying this very favorite spot in the North Channel.....check out the pictures.....meanwile Dale is snorkeling up a storm every day and trying to catch fish....no fish.
