It's a Northern Great Lakes Whooley!!!!!

Thought you might like to know why Lake Erie is so treacherous. This is today about 50 miles from Erie on a weather buoy over by Port Stanley, Canada with a big low coming across the great lakes.
Note the wave period.....8 Seconds....12’ waves.....40 Knots.......60’ of water depth......it’s a killer........off Long Point today west of here I would suspect 15’ waves on 9 seconds at 60 knots. This is a big front that has moved the water in Lake Erie east by 1.5’ in Erie.... probably 4’ in Buffalo......Bathtub principle.....Jim Whistler called and confirmed the 4' in Buffalo.

This does not mean I do not have a great deal of respect for the ocean......it’s that 8 sec wave that is the Gotchya.
