01-20-21 Nyanza arrives in Miami around 1500hrs after going by Fisher Island where my friend Roger Richards resides from Erie in the winter to the marina at the bottom of South Beach where all the SORC race boats used to tie up before the races. Very hard to dock with high pilings and no long docks. Florida prices too...$6.00 a foot per night....sherry and I got the boat setup and we waited for Jim and Heather to arrive from Pittsburgh. About 2000 hrs they came in on uber and we had a simple dinner on the docks. Plan is when musician channing shows up we will leave around 1000hrs in the morning to arrive Key West around 1000 the following day (70nm).Morning comes and our musician Channing Griggs our super musician arrives to go with us to Key West...Clarinet,Sax and Banjo........we are ready to go and cast off around 0930 for what will be a 70 mile 24hr beautiful ride. Light breeze out of the NE. Motor sail.
