03/2019 Nyanza McBrier team goes to St Thomas for the STIR (St Thomas Invitational Regatta.
Races IC24's / David McBrier, his son Will, Jt McBrier, Jonathan Iams from Pittsburgh and Peter Orshan from Long Island took on 20 other IC24's. Renting a boat from St thomas YC our team showed and raced hard under difficult conditions. Weigh in was 800 lbs.......well they could only
sail with 4 people.....everyone else did 5...small problem....after 12 races our team sxhowed and finished 16th. Puerto Rico with 4 baots swaept the fleet. The good news...everyone had fun.
Meanwhile Dale McBrier showed for a few days playing his flute with famous island singers Charming Lynn Griggs and Barefoot Davis!!!!!
Kevin and Peggy Gregory have a beautiful new Passage 47.... Robin blue too.....had a great time sailing every day, watching some racing and just enjoying the best of St Thomas.
Had a great condo on Cowpet Bay at Elysian Beach Resort......hotel still closed...reopening this fall after 18 month because of the hurricane.....had two great meals at the Caribbean Fish Market and a lot of fun at the St Francis Yacht Club.....
